VISION: Everyone has access to affordable, nourishing, culturally appropriate food. Land & waterways are available for the community to grow, catch, forage & cultivate food to meet their needs.

GOALS: Shift the narrative and culture towards food as a human right; Advance systems that provide equitable access to nutritious, sustainable, affordable food; Strengthen connectivity between partners in support of the nourishment and well being of all Greenwich residents for generations to come.

Greenwich Foodshed Alliance (GFA), a program of The Foodshed Network, is a diverse network of educators, business owners, nonprofit directors, municipal leaders, and community members invested in a just, equitable, and resilient food system. In collaboration with local partners, GFA introduces and implements federal and state food and agriculture programs within the Greenwich community, including:

  • Farm to School
  • (Senior) Farmers' Market Nutrition Program
  • Universal No-Cost School Meals

We drive systemic change through three primary pillars:

  • Access + Equity
  • Farm to School
  • Food + Agricultural Policy

Join us! GFA convenes an open, bi-monthly Community of Practice (CoP) to foster collaboration and shared learning. Co-leaders are Ali Ghiorse, Executive Director of The Foodshed Network & Karen Saggese, Site Director at Food Rescue US - Fairfield County.
