Foodshed CSA Greenwich strengthens food security, for everyone, by providing opportunities
for residents to support and invest in Connecticut’s farmers and food economy by:

  • Facilitating donated subscriptions for low income residents
  • Establishing connectivity between community partners
  • Building relationships between farmers and Greenwich residents
  • Raising revenue for TFN which is critical to the sustainability of the program
  • Providing a reliable market for farmers, while raising awareness around its food and agricultural systems
  • Advancing TFN’s mission to transform the food system into relationship-based food economies, rooted in equity, culture and a sense of place

CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is a partnership between consumers and local farmers where members purchase a share of the farm's harvest in advance, typically before the growing season,
in exchange for regular deliveries of fresh produce throughout the season.

Learn about the history and evolution of the CSA, beginning with Booker T. Whatley, a Black author, horticulturist, and professor at Tuskegee University in the 1960s.
