FROM THE

SEAFOOD                   SOUND

Please join us for an autumn dinner prepared by Connecticut chefs whose passion is about ‘eating with the ecosystem.’ This special culinary experience will feature a three-course plated meal highlighting Long Island Sound’s ‘overlooked’ seafood while celebrating its incredible diversity - both beloved staples and forgotten treasures.

Seafood from the Sound will benefit SoundWaters, Eating with the Ecosystem and Foodshed Forum Fairfield County, regional neighbors within the New England food justice movement working towards resiliency within the food system. The evening will educate, celebrate and connect around Long Island Sound as a sustainable food source with a lasting history of providing sustenance along our coastline.

Foodshed Forum Fairfield County acknowledges the Munsee Lenape Indigenous Nation, as the first stewards of Long Island Sound and recognizes their place within its cultural legacy.

ABOUT
FOODSHED FORUM FAIRFIELD COUNTY

Foodshed Forum Fairfield County, a program of The Foodshed Network, was co-founded by Ali Ghiorse and Sarah Coccaro, Assistant Director of Environmental Affairs Town of Greenwich, in 2022. Foodshed Forum Fairfield County is an educational platform focused on establishing a shared understanding around the value of protecting foodsheds and waterways and fostering a just food system. Foodshed Forums bridge communities while uplifting the grass-roots initiatives that are creating pathways towards land and food sovereignty for everyone, while facilitating the cross-pollination of ideas among food justice practitioners and anyone who is interested in learning about and participating in a just, equitable and regionalized food system.
